AGNR/UMD 2+2 Transfer Program Application Procedures
The College of Agriculture and Natural Resources (AGNR), University of Maryland (UMD) at College Park established the 2+2 transfer program with the Northwest A&F University (NWAFU). The participating SCAU students, following admission by UMD, will take a minimum of 60 credits of UMD coursework and receive a BS degree from UMD. Listed below are procedures to follow in order to facilitate the application processes. Additional documents on English requirement and training opportunity are included for reference.
1. How to Start
If you are interested in the 2+2 transfer program, you should first talk to NWAFU representative, Professor Wenjun Qiao, about your interest and your registration in the program. AGNR/UMD will only process the application packages and accept those students who are registered in the NWAFU 2+2 transfer program and recommended by Professor Qiao or his representative. The 2+2 transfer program information can be found at www.ipan.umd.edu
2. International Student Transfer Admission Requirements
If you decide to apply for the 2+2 transfer program, you can check the following website about requirement and process.
http://www.admissions.umd.edu/apply/internationalTransfer.cfm
3. Language Requirement
Check the website http://www.admissions.umd.edu/ apply/ english Proficiency. cfm for information about language requirement. You are encouraged to take the language test as soon as possible. The attached two documents explain the test score requirement for evaluation of English proficiency and the language training at the Maryland English Institute (MEI).
4. Submission of Application Package
Work closely with Professor Qiao and then submit the completed application package to UMD for admission evaluation. Professor Qiao will communicate with AGNR/IPAN and recommend the applicants with the information on the students name, birthdate, English test score and future major at UMD.
5. Application Deadline
March 1 is the priority deadline which guarantees a decision by April. March 1 is the generic deadline for all transfer students. The deadline for the 2+2 program application is April 15. All online/paper materials must be received by that date to ensure that the applicants will have ample time to receive all the needed documents for visa interview.
